This lesson is about side borders, and those are not my personal favourites ;-) The first challenge was finding a suitable graphic. Surfing around I stumbled onto Serenity Arts, and I really liked the tubed drawings of Nel van Veen. I haven't found a website or more info about this lady, if anyone knows more please email me.
First I'll show you the five color swatch I made with the colors from the main graphic, the one I used for the left border. I decided to pick one light color, two shades of purple and two shades of green.
Then I used the lightest color to create this background tile. The only thing I did to create this tile, was add some noise to it...
Then I used the other tubes available to create the header image, the divider and the buttons. I like to have more than just one image to play with... it is so neat to learn to create websets with matching components. I really had a great time putting this page together! When I talk to Ellie I have to thank her for recommending me this great course! The most important thing I learned from this lesson is the use of a transparent gif to keep the text and graphics aligned properly. Do you want to see how this page looks without this empty gif? This site is made for a 1024x768 screen resolution.
For graphics/artwork credit is given when possible.
Is any of the graphics yours, please let me know and I will give credit or remove the graphic if necessary. © Annemarie 2004 |
