:: lesson 03 ::

Welcome to the beach ;-) this is the third lesson and the subject is "making a webset".
For this page I used a few of Jazzl's tubes (again ;-)), you can find Jazzl's site here.

First I made a swatch with five colors from the lighthouse graphic:
:: swatch ::

From light to dark the color numbers are:
#F9F7F6
#F8F1AF
#F1D361
#D55831
#B24932

After that I made a set of matching background tiles.
I'll tell you how I made them and show the result of those steps.

The first one was made using a square selection from one of the beach houses which I used for the divider image. That square changed quite a bit when I ran it through the Simple filter. First the Diamonds setting and after that the Pizza Slice Mirror. Finally I used the PSP8 seamless tile option.
:: background tile # 1 ::
I used this gradient to make the borders that separate the backgrounds on this page.

The second tile was also a selection from that same beach house, to obtain the same colors for this tile. Again I used the Simple filter but this time I chose the 4 Way Average setting. After that I used Eye Candy 3.1 with the Jiggle preset and Paint Engine with a random setting. I finished this tile with a seamless tile effect from PSP8.

This is the result:
:: background tile # 2 ::

For the third and last background tile I used the darkest color from my swatch. First I used texturizer with the Sandstone preset and I made it seamless with the same option as before.

This is the result:
:: background tile # 3 ::

Then I needed a gradient to separate the tables, I used the colors from the first 2 background tiles to create it.
:: gradient strip ::

For the divider I used a few tubes from Jazzl's and I composed this beach-house skyline ;-)
I hope you enjoyed viewing this page as much as I enjoyed creating it!
