This is my second lesson, it is called "Seamless Tiles".
For this page I used one of Jazzl's tubes, you can find Jazzl's site here.
First I made a swatch with five colors from the graphic:
From light to dark the color numbers are:
#EBF0F8
#D5DCE4
#9CA4BE
#66577E
#483954
After that I made a gradient using two of the five swatch colors:
I used this gradient to make the borders that separate the backgrounds on this page.
The next part of this lesson was creating seamless background tiles.
First I made one using the first and third color of my swatch.
I made a gradient, and ran that through xenoflex (showerdoor with fuzzed out preset).
After that I used FM Tile Tools with the Blend Emboss setting to create the relief.
After that I used the seamless image setting in PSP8 to make the tile seamless.
The settings were: corner, bi-directional, linear and 50%.
This is the result:
Then I used the second and fourth color of my swatch to create another tile.
I started with a gradient, then I added 20% monochrome noise to it.
After that I used Texturizer to give the tile a crystalized texture.
For the final step I used the same seamless image settings as before.
This is the result:
